Safety Control Lighting Kits for Vented Sets
Safety Lighting Kits provide safety shutdown in the event of an interruption in the gas supply or flameout. They also provide a convenient means of lighting the main burner(s) and controlling the flame height. They are required for all indoor propane installations, advisable for indoor natural gas, and are required for installations in certain jurisdictions. There are two main categories of Safety Lighting Kits:
1) Standing Pilots (SP) (Manual, Variable Remote, and Millivolt); and
2) Pilot on Demand-Electronic Ignition Systems (EIS)
Basic Manual Control (SPK1) - turn the valve knob to light the main burner and adjust the flame height. Is not upgradable to remote control. Has 150,000 BTU/hour capacity (up to 42" set size) with 3/4" i.d. gas line.
Variable Flame Height Remote Control (RMC1E) - 90,000 BTU/hour maximum capacity.
Light the burner and control the flame height with the hand-held wireless remote control (included).
Millivolt Switch/Remote Ready (RPK1 & RPK3) - Light the burner with the included wired wall switch, or with the accessories found on Page 62. Adjust the flame height manually by adjusting the knob at the valve.
There are two main types of EIS: 1) Battery powered; and 2) 120V AC powered
A) Battery Powered are designed to be installed either inside or outside of the firebox. When an AC adapter is used, the batteries become a back-up in case of power outage. Can be used with home automation system.
B) 120V AC Powered require the components to be installed outside of the firebox in a "vault" with gas and electricity. They are the systems to use if you require the ignition to be tied into an exhaust fan or for use with a home automation system. No gas modulation control - requires manual valve at burner to control flame height (such as V17, V1, or V2, or one of sufficient gas capacity).
Have our factory assemble a Manual, RMC1E, or RPK Safety Control to any of the following Match Lighted gas log burners up to and including the 30” set size: F, FX, CS, CXF, TNA, and DF-CF.

LC, LD, DF-LC, and DF-LD Burners - PLEASE NOTE:
The Safety Control Lighting Kits on Page 60 and Page 61 are not to be used with LC, LD, DF-LC, and DF-LD Burners. Due to the plumbing design of these Multi-Burners, field assembly of these kits on LC, LD, DF-LC, and DF-LD Burners is problematic and not supported by Rasmussen. Purchase LC, LD, DF-LC, and DF-LD Burners with Factory-Assembled Controls from Pages 17-23.
