BURNERS FOR VENTED SETS
Vented Gas Burners are designed to burn with a yellow, smoky, wood-like flame that will produce carbon soot which must be fully exhausted up the chimney in a fireplace in which it is safe to burn wood. Vented gas logs are not a cure for a smoking (non-drafting) chimney.
All Rasmussen Vented Pan Burners are constructed of heavy 16-gauge steel, with ½” schedule-40 pipe (not light duty tubing) for the main burner tube and ¼” steel tubing for the ember booster portions of the FX, CS, CXF and DF-CF, LC and LD burners. All seams are welded for maximum performance and durability. Rasmussen vented pan burners utilize a pan filler, which completely covers the burner tube(s). The gas pressurizes beneath the filler, then breaks through into a dancing, smoky, wood-like flame. Pan filler varies with gas type: White Sand for Natural Gas; Black Volcanic Ash for outdoor Natural Gas and for Propane (plus an air mixer and orifice).
Safety Controls are required for all indoor Propane installations; and for Natural Gas as desired or required by local custom or requirement. In all cases, Controls provide a convenient means of lighting the burner while providing shutdown of the gas flow to the burner in case of an interruption in the gas supply or a flame out. Safety Controls are not hardened, warranted, or recommended for outdoor use, except those specifally designated for Outdoor Use.
“F” Burner and "FX" Burner- Both are L-shaped half-pan burner that sits on the firebox floor underneath a Grate. Single pipe burner provides flame and ember glow. FX has ember boosters that increase the depth of the ember bed by 2 inches compared to the F burner.
"DF-CF" Burner - For see-through fireplaces. Flat burner that sits on the firebox floor underneath a parallel see-through Grate. Single pipe burner with ember boosters.
“CS” Burner - Rectangular-shaped full-pan burner. Single pipe with Ember Boosters (NG) or Baffle (LP) to distribute gas. Logs, FireBalls, etc. sit in the pan – No Grate is used. 4.25” high with the legs, 2” high without the legs. Use in Single, Double and Multi-sided fireplaces.
“B”= Black Painted with Strap Legs; “SR”= Stainless Steel with Tubular Legs.
“CXF” Burner - Full pan, tapered pan burner. Single pipe with baffle and ember booster to distribute gas. Logs, FireBalls, etc. sit in the pan – no Grate is used. 2” high. Use in Single-sided fireplaces. “B”= Black Painted; “SS”= Stainless Steel.
“LC” and “LD” Burners - Lower burner for embers and upper burner for main flame are welded to a heavy Grate. Designed for larger scale fireplaces. The design of the LD burner eliminates the need for a rear log. Right side gas feed only - plumb behind the burner if gas is on the left side.
“DF-LC” and “DF-LD” Burners - LC and LD burner designs applied for Double Face (See-Through) Fireplaces. Multiple burners are welded to the heavy Grate. These designs require 3/4”-id and larger gas supply to provide adequate flame height. DF-LC is 21” deep; DF-LD is 25” deep.
“TNA” Burner - Sloped burner with single pipe and ember boosters - no Grate is used. Specifically designed for Rumford Fireplaces (wide front width, narrow rear width, shallow depth), it can be used in “regular” fireplaces with Andirons and Evening-series logs to create a unique look.
"CSRF” Burner - Tapered full-pan burner. Single pipe with Ember Boosters to distribute gas.
No Grate is used. Designed for 4-inch diameter FireBalls in Rumford Fireplaces (wide front width, narrow rear width, shallow depth), but can be used in fireplaces which meet the minimum dimensions.
"RF-LD” Burners – Lower burner for embers and upper burner for main flame are welded to a heavy Grate. Specifically designed for Traditional and Evening Series Single Sided Log sets in Rumford Fireplaces (wide front width, narrow rear width, shallow depth), but can be used in fireplaces which meet the minimum dimensions. The Rear Log is used as a top log to build a taller log stack.
